Hannah Blue – April 17, 2013

Remember Hannah Blue, the puppy that Maxine of Warm Hearts initially rescued that so starved that our veterinarian, Dr. Barbara Page, couldn’t even find a vein to do a blood test?

Not only was Hannah 15 pounds below weight, she was totally un-socialized and scared of everything – especially large dogs.

Cheryl got her healthy and worked with her.  Still, Hannah remained terrified of any large dog.  Dr. Page thinks that large dogs chased Hannah away from food.

When Hannah was finally healthy, she was listed for adoption. We were flooded with applications for her. But,  a family in Massachusetts, who has always had husky dogs, was interested in her. We told them all about her issues, and they were still in love with her. They were deemed the right family.

Hannah went to her new home last week.  P.E.T.S., LLC, our transport company, were apprised of her issues and committed to keeping her away from large dogs. They gave her special attention.

Hannah’s new Dad ran in the Boston Marathon this past weekend.  He was not far from the finish line when the bombs went off.  He was okay and could not wait to get back home to his family and Hannah.

Here is this special dog in her new home.  Thank you, Maxine, for rescuing her, and thank you, Cheryl, for doing such a great job getting this special needs puppy ready for a new home.  This was not an easy foster.

Hannah Blue has a good life ahead of her.
